Corrolary: If the Russian army is so strong and capable, why can’t it take Eastern Ukraine? If Russian armor is so magnificent, Why was it defeated while trying to take Kiev?
Regardless of what you or the NYT thinks of Russia’s aviation performance, they do fly hundreds of sorties every day. They attack Ukraine forces by air and apparently successfully.
As to the comment regarding “Putin’s failure to build a capable modern air force” it is true that U.S. aviation forces are better than Russia’s according to some military experts. But, those same experts judge Russia as superior to the U.S. in artillery warfare.
Russia is fighting a U.S. trained and equipped to “NATO standards” army on the enemy’s territory and they are without any doubt, winning.
Because they are fighting a “special military operation” and not a full scale war they have only brought 15% of their artillery capability to the battle field and without their latest and best equipment (except in a few cases of beta testing the new technology.)
They have to date avoided any full mobilization of their forces because Putin says they don’t need it.

They will lose as a nation in every respect: Economically, politically, militarily.
Mr Z, a US/EU plant wanted to be the king and was willing to do what he was told by those that put him in power. The West was guided by pure economics. Biden pulled the trigger for this war when he said “yes” to Ukraine being a NATO member in October 2021. That simple.
As to Ukraine. They will now be a basket case. Not Russia, not the EU, not the US, Ukraine. This isn't 2014. Ukraine isn't going to bounce back and everything is nice and happy again. No one will want to invest there. They will lose a major industrial area, port city, ~18% of their population, have an infrastructure that is in shambles, millions of displaced people, thousands dead. The money spigot from the West is very temporary.
Millions of people had their lives, property and possession's gambled with when Biden crossed the line (that is essentially what it was: we were ***gambling*** and we were willing to gamble really high because it was with someone elses money). Russia had two options:
1.) Lay on your belly and stick your ass up in the air. We get to to whatever we want, when we want, where we want.
2.) Go to war.
As to the rest. More feel good nonsense.
Russia already has achieved >80% of their set out goals on the ground and Ukraine will NOT be a NATO member. I am sure the Russians if afforded an opportunity, will go for a grab either in the South going for Odessa, or in the Donbas. But most of what they wanted they already took.

Now it's time for Hollywood to step in and make some movies. We always win in our own movies! It is after all a war started by a Democrat and Democrat wars are good wars (according to the arts and media). It's also a war against our nemesis the Russians, really just an economic competitor in the global energy market (also why we tried hard to tear Syria out from under them a few years back). Big corporate interests which run the political system in the West support this war, they wanted Ukraine in the EU and NATO (security assurances). So I am sure some really cool movies will be coming down the pipe soon. Movies where Putin wasn't pushed in a corner, Biden was forced to announce Ukraine will be accepted into NATO, and of course where some 120 lbs. female LGBTQIA+ lead herion kills 200 Russian cross eyed soldiers all by herself as she saves little children from a giant blood draining facility. It will all be "based" on a true story, of course.
Said another way: If you think that when the Russians secured Mariupol it was a great Ukrainian success story like the major media told us then I guess you think Biden's exit plan from Afghanistan was perfect too, which the major media also told us. I think both things were, maybe, not as rosy as the press suggested. And my question is why publish propeganda? Just tell the truth. We're three months into this thing and I still don't think any US media is publishing anything accurate about anything.

Sorties that skirt the borders of Ukraine because they will get shot down if they go much further, since they DO NOT have air superiority.

You say it’s because of their mealy-mouthed excuse of “not fighting a real war”, but I say it’s more likely because either most of their artillery is in a poor state or repair, or because they are afraid of losing it, since a lot of the equipment they brought into Ukraine has either been destroyed or abandoned.
These are the same confidential UK sources who used to trash the US operations in Iraq.

You said Russia did not fly any missions. I knew that was untrue because, like I said, I USE FACTS and I have read many times that they fly hundreds of sorties a day. “My source” as you put it, confirmed what I said so it was an appropriate source to use.
I won’t bother to refute your other statements because every single one of them were just your opinion and totally devoid of facts.

No, I said they were demonstrating a lack of air superiority by “not flying missions”. I never used the word “any”, so you are, right there, “distorting facts”, as you wish to accuse me of.

Your source confirms the sorties are limited to dashing in and out of Ukrainian borders, because otherwise their planes will get shot down. Which corroborates my original assertion that the Russians do not have air superiority. I can’t argue a word of that. The Clinton/Obama cabal has been agitating for war with Russia for years. To what end escapes me. If the deepstate didn’t thumbscrew Trump my bet is he would have made our relationship with Russia much better to the betterment of the world. But these people will have none of it so we ping pong from crisis to crisis. All the while they are amassing more power and money.
