They have a very low “diversity score” at that website.

They forgot to add teachers propping open doors so killers could get in and murder children

Public education is a lose-lose situation, getting worse. The good teachers will leave, resulting in a shrunk pool of ill-qualified MSNBC viewers who'd never pack heat in the first place.

You're seeing that now in the big city districts in Texas. Meanwhile private and charter schools are springing up all over the place.

Shutting down schools and disrupting the lives of parents and children during the years of COVID helped.

“I've been bitten; I've been scratched; I've been punched in my line of work over the last two years, with this last year in particular …”

The best thing we can do as a society right now is eliminate this idiotic concept known as “compulsory education.”

No person of any age who is unwilling or unable to behave like a civilized human being should be even ALLOWED to mingle with others in a public setting — let alone FORCED to do so.

Every problem mentioned can be traced directly to liberalism.

As long as they prop open security doors, no sympathy here.

So it’s all about the teachers now.

Time again for my standard question....
Why do you need a bachelors degree to teach second grade math?

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

How about if the teachers did not prop the door to the school open and followed protocol and kept classroom doors locked.

“Those who can, do. Those who cannot do, teach. Teachers teach because they are incapable of anything else. Are there some who are really good? Yeah. But it’s well known that the enrollees in Schools of Education within colleges are the lowest tier of academia. Many who find that they cannot cut it in STEM majors switch their major to Education and viola! They are too stupid to be a biologist, but they can teach it!”

The following observation is not politically correct, but hard to deny: Until about 60 years ago, the majority of intelligent women became teachers, because it was one of the few professions open to them. They did a great job, some with as little as two years of “normal school,” (i.e., teacher’s college). Many were unmarried women. Once admission to females in the top paying professions like medicine and law became not the exception, but the norm, precious few of the smartest women (and men) chose elementary or secondary school teaching as their profession. Those spots and the spots for school administrators began to and continued to be filled by the dumbest graduates. There’s been a trickle down effect over time on the level of education these teachers impart. Add political correctness and all manner of idiot theories like manmade global warming and transgenderism, etc, etc, and you’ve created a formula for the ever worsening disaster in the educational system.

(I know we will hear from Freepers who are the exception to this rule and that there are notable exceptions to this trend and that there are dedicated smart people who choose the noble teaching profession, even though they are qualified for any profession they might choose).
