Well, I botched the title. Should read
Southern Baptist Convention releases alleged abusers list for churches to ‘proactively’ protect the vulnerable
That’s outright defamation.
Looks like about 600 names or so. And yeah, lots are redacted. Not sure why.

The “media” are gearing up for the convention next month in CA.
SEVERAL news pieces strategically timed.
My former pastor is on that list. At the time, our church was an Independent Baptist Church, not a Southern Baptist Church.
It was a horrible, disgusting revelation to discover what he had done. He and his family claimed he was ‘set up’ by the minor, which was a ridiculous claim. He and they still maintain his innocence. After he resigned (before he could be fired), he was permanently banned from the premises. He tried to force the church into paying severance and paying for his unused vacation days but that was a no-go.
Today, there are only a handful of members there who were there during that time. My husband and I are in that number. Everyone else has joined in the years after that.
He was a prideful, selfish, narcissistic man who had apparently struggled with homosexuality for years until he decided to act on it by exploiting his position by going after a troubled 17 year old.
Our church handled things the right way and didn’t try to suppress anything or go after the victim or their family. One of our deacons, who was a police detective, actually discovered there was a case in progress when he heard our pastor’s voice on a recording from a room down the hall when he was at another police station.
It was a bad time for our church.

There was 47,592 SBC churces in 2020. Churches often have multiple leaders, pastors, associate pastors, youth pastors, etc.
The 600 names is over 20 years.
So I think it’s less than 1%. Would be interesting to know how many continued serving in a leadership position. Usually they resign.

It’s all the porn on the internet. It has ruined two or three generations now. I do not know the answer; but if Big Tech can find and dox individuals for minor offenses, it can certainly find the makers of this trash and help law enforcement to go after those who exploit children and trafficked individuals.
