If I were fixated with war I’d be cheering on the wholesale destruction of a sovereign nation that posed no threat to Russia. But I’m not. YOU all are.

The oblasts did not secede. After being taken over by Russian backed armed militants illegal referenda were held that called for autonomy, not independence. Again, this could have been solved politically if not for Russian armed intervention. This was an internal dispute within Ukraine and none of Russia’s business. Russia needs to accept that Ukraine is an independent country, not a dependency of Russia. The days of a Greater Russian Empire are over.
Just because this latest NATO provocation has been stopped dead in it’s tracks, that’s no reason to lash out at me. I suppose if it keeps you from beating your wife and kicking your dog, have at it. Now, once again, Eastern Ukraine is being denazified by Russia. They have experience with this and it’s shouldn’t take much longer, so please sit tight.

They declared themselves to be People’s Republics. A Republic is by its very definition independent, as it is the supreme power, through its people and their representatives. That means SUPREME; no other authority has power over it. Now, it could be that by “republic” they meant in the Soviet sense, which means they are just vassals; but if so, they have declared themselves not to be vassals of Ukraine.
In any event, republic or autonomous zone or whatever, by declaring themselves separatists (obvious meaning: they want to be separate from Ukraine’s authority and control) they started a civil war within and against sovereign Ukraine.
So, there WAS no “latest NATO provocation,” or else you would have pointed it out instead of posting a video of your love interest.
I suggest you lose the anger and do some rudimentary research. Putin reacted to NATOs provocation. Now run along. It 💤 nap time at the home.
