I deeply agree.
I understand and it takes a lot of training to do that, but, as you know, most civilians with no training act on emotions, very dangerous situation with a dedicated shooter. Those poor kids probably were shot and killed within the first 2 minutes when the perp entered the classroom. Unfortunately very little could have been done to save them.
I convinced my wife to carry a plate carrier and one of those fake, concealed hangun carrier badges, that, at a distance, cannot be discerned in such a chatoic situation and to simply bypass the corrupt/incompetent blue line listening to their radios to "stand down/wait for swat".
PPeople better wargame this scenario of incompetence and figure out how to exploit it.
Starting to wonder if law enforcement of the past has a different attitude than those who used to run toward the sound of gunfire rather than away from it. Perhaps those new law enforcement types know all the woke pronouns but try to keep a low profile for fear of making a life-sentence decision... for them.

I saw Bernard Kerik interviewed today on EWTN (Catholic news story on the shootings). He was Rudi Guliani’s police chief at era of the stop and frisk policy and the WTC attack.
His one point was we do not really know the truth at this time. We cannot keep commenting on speculation and half-truths and rumors. (who went in when, what weapons, parents’ talk with news crews during height of panic and so on).
He’s right although I’m one who comments too soon here nearly every day.
He says “woke” types have taken away the good idea of teachers and officers in all schools being well armed and supported in taking down troublemakers once the gun is spotted in the shooter’s hand. Gun free only brings death to the unarmed in schools, he said. True.
I am waiting to see how this shakes out. Beto shows up yesterday, screaming “you have done nothing”, now the theme is becoming anti-cops who did nothing. This is right in the democrats playbook. The mayor is a democrat who has been on Tucker Carlson in the past, blaming Biden for the border crisis. He has called Cruz and Abbott clowns as well. Even before this shooting, this town and mayor were controversial. First report there was a school security officer who struggled with the shooter who dropped his backpack but still got in the school. (Even though there were photos of the discarded backpack). Now we are being told that never happened. Very early on, a freeper showed a pic of the truck and there wasn’t a gun beside it……later there was a long gun beside the truck. Another freeper grabbed photos of the shooter dressed in drag, which was shut down with his social media. Now, a mysterious woman is claiming that when she heard of the shooting, she decided to pretend she was the shooter dressed like a woman and it was her in these pics. I call BS on that one.
Cops were outside, which is obvious and necessary. That doesn’t mean there weren’t teams inside the school. To me, it seems reasonable that they had a responsibility to keep parents out of the building. They had no idea what the shooter or potentially MULTIPLE SHOOTERS looked like, so parents running around inside would have confused the situation and created an immense added danger to the already deadly event.
How the hell would they know? If they actively engaged the shooter as soon as they were on scene, the shooter would have been busy dealing with attackers, not idly murdering unprotected kids.
Just damned cowardice. They’re not police - they’re just meter maids with snazzy “combat” uniforms.

On top of all this, ten black people were shot last week at a grocery store, now Uvalde, both exactly six months before arguably the most important mid-terms in American history. Ironically, Joe Biden just happens to sign a new executive order, regarding new “policing” policies. Kind of reminds me of the mysterious pandemic in the, coincidentally , presidential election year. We all heard years ago, “THERE IS NOT SUCH THING AS A COINCIDENCE IN AN ELECTION YEAR.”
Yeah I met Kerik a couple times. The first being outside the RNC in NYC when I was a rookie cop. Nice enough guy although he’s a felon. But he’s correct here. You cannot judge on incomplete information. And all we have so far in incomplete information.
It’s obvious, the donuts had not arrived yet!
So, they chase him, apparently lose him, and he goes on a twelve minute shooting spree, including outside a funeral home.
The reporting on this is so f*cked up. All the media is good for anymore is propaganda. They have no actual newsgathering capability any more.
All 140 cops who stood around should kill themselves. The world would be a better place.
If even only 25% of the 140 LEOs outside had stormed and swept the building...

Unfortunately I don’t have kids of my own but I’ve had responsibility for hundreds of kids over my lifetime. I can’t think of any one of them I’d hesitate to kill or die for.
And may God have mercy on the soul of anyone who would try to stop me.
