Bill Maher Is Not Your New Conservative BFF

Neither is Tulsi Gabbard, as much as I'd like her to be...

I saw a billboard this past weekend that Bill Maher is coming to Soaring Eagle Casino in Michigan for a live stage show.

Why would I want to go to a Bill Maher standup routine?

Bill Maher is just trying to keep his ratings up, because with Trump out of the White House, ratings have gone down. Conservative sites praising him are stupid.

I agree about Tulsi.

Smart, attractive, fairly articulate, served her country, and willing to buck her party seemingly on principle. I want to buy it. I am too cynical.

Fox news has her on many times. She definitely sounds more like a conservative instead like a lib. I hope she will eventually change her party affiliation and become a conservative. I definitely would have voted for her if I were a resident of Hawaii

Maher is a good indicator that not all liberals or democrats are on the same page with everything the leftists are perpetually spewing. Some of them DO have common sense or the ability to reason even if its slow. I’ve often said that real-world democrats are not really that bad. Most of the ones that I know allow their compassion to guide them past the point of reason. For example, I worked for years with a guy who would tell me straight up that his decisions where politics were concerned revolved around what was good or best for children. He was in favor of gun control because he felt it was better (safer) for the kids. He was in favor of welfare because he couldn’t stand the thought of kids going hungry or not having heat during the winter. Nothing I said would convince him to think in bigger terms about having no safety net forcing people to get jobs so their kids wouldn’t starve. Nothing I said would convince him that people should be capable of defending themselves and the police should essentially back them up. But its hard to fault a guy for being emotional about kids and wanting the best for them, even if his ultimate logic about what the best is was essentially faulty. Maher is still a liberal but he’s not one who is insane enough to voice support for child maiming or child abuse. I don’t especially like him, but I agree with his stance on this. If your kid wanted the doctor to cut off his hand, he would be referred to a psychiatrist because his thinking was broken. How is cutting off your genitals any different?

Lately, a lot of my thinking about the left side of the political spectrum, including Tulsi Gabbard, is that they can say and think things that make a lot of sense, but they are still baby killers. That one fact alone tells you all you need to be against them.

“Why would I want to go to a Bill Maher standup routine?”

Save yourself a few bucks and go rent his 80s movie “Pizza Guy”.

Not that you would get any more laughs, but you would save a few bucks.
