[[Rich Black, who lives feet away from the sign, has some concerns. It’s not appropriate,” Black said. “I’m glad I don’t have kids here.]]

Hey Rich- check out what your kid’s schools are forcing your kids to read, hear and see-

It *IS* located right next to a trailer park, a ready-made source of clientele for such a business...

Not only clientele, it is also a source of workers.

It’s not really…..not funny

I know this little town…….they have yearly Appalachian festivals…..and wonderful music and revere their history and traditions….

This is sad

I thought the neighbor was a wealthy African-American.

Well, that is sad and I agree 100%.

But I have to disagree that it isn't funny, but...I also admit my funny bone does have an irreverent and occasionally twisted component to it, so imagining both someone with the idea to paint that canvas, and the vacationing family car with kids driving by who say "Dad! Can we go to Strip Land!" pokes that irreverent part in me.

There was a movie called "Rat Race" which was not a stellar movie but did have some funny parts, and one part was the Jewish family on vacation in the minivan passing the Barbie Museum, and the kids and wife, desperate to stop to use a bathroom, implore the husband driving to pull off at the Barbie Museum. They do, only to find it is actually the Klaus Barbie Museum, dedicated to an infamous, brutal and sadistic Nazi.

Well, I’m not about to go through life without finding humor where I can.

I can’t be virtue-signal sad all the time all the time about everything that requires it. Not in this day and age.

Well, I don’t run your life…..you do…..to each his conscience.

But I found the reviews on this movie…….’vulgar’ was mentioned often, among other words

Of course. And it is vulgar.

I enjoy high and lowbrow humor. Can’t deny it.

probably the funniest scene from this movie. The store owner is none other than John Paragon, who would later portray Jambi in Pee-Wee's Playhouse.

Well its better than “Jappa the Hut.”

But the “Hootchie Hut” would be a good substitute these days for the “White Hut.”

Sylva (and the surrounding area) is a nest of practicing witches that despise Christians...there is a woman who sells medicinal herbs at local festivals in WNC who dresses like Margaret Hamilton in her Oz role...including the pointed black hat.

What evidence do you have to say this?
I know Sylva is not as conservative as other small towns around it, but I have never heard this?

Visit some of the garden and herb festivals around WNC...witchcraft is part of their marketing campaigns, so I take them at their word (Gaia, Beltaine, etc.) When they tell customers they are witches, I take them at their word. Some pastors say they gather in 'circles' to cast spells against them. Do a search on 'North Carolina' and 'witches'...there is PLENTY of 'evidence'. There are 'witchcraft' stores all across North Carolina, not just in the WNC area.

I'm not linking to this crap, do your OWN research.

I’ll be more aware when I’m there, and I’m there often.
I am sad that this could be…..
….I have not noticed any ‘witchery’ at all the festivals I go to in WNC
There’s a church on every corner, almost
