Look how Trump is failing at creating a new media platform, and he has money and talent behind his efforts.
It is possible with really deep pockets to create infrastructure, but mostly it is rented from aws or azure, maybe oracle ?
but it is not even easy to play catch up.
Could I start a new FAB for microprocessors if I had a billion dollars ? maybe, but probably it would fail from unexpected things that the established companies have already known about.
