Russia 'has lost as many men in its three-month Ukrainian invasion as it did during entire NINE-YEAR war in Afghanistan due to poor tactics and leadership'
Daily Mail ^ | 5/23/2022 | Tom Brown

Russian losses in Ukraine over the first three months are likely to have already surpassed those of the Soviet-Afghan war which lasted nine years, the UK Ministry of Defence has said.

The Soviet Union's losses are estimated to be around 15,000 killed in the Afghan war, with an additional 35,478 wounded and 311 missing.

'The Russian public has, in the past, proven sensitive to casualties suffered during wars of choice,' said the UK government ministry, which did not name the exact figure.

'As casualties suffered in Ukraine continue to rise they will become more apparent, and public dissatisfaction with the war and a willingness to voice it may grow.'

Poor tactics, limited air cover, a lack of flexibility, and a command approach reinforcing failure and repeating mistakes has led to the high casualty rate, said the ministry.

The UK's Secretary of State for Defence Ben Wallace previously estimated that approximately a quarter of Russia's battalion tactical groups were 'not combat effective.'

More importantly Russia has lost the respect and fear the world once had for its conventional military. China can’t help but look upon Russia’s Siberian treasure house and its rich far eastern Pacific lands in a whole new light.

I’m genuinely surprised Daily Mail didn’t claim Russia’s Ukraine losses surpassed WW2.

China won’t invade a weakened Russia outright. Rather, China will wait for (and possibly secretly encourage) a civil war inside Russia and have themselves invited in by the side that still controls the nuclear weapons.

I’m very skeptical of these numbers. The US is open about these statistics. Russia is not.

How are they arriving at these numbers?

Who knows what shape China’s military is in? They do have the manpower advantage. Would they launch nukes at each other?

You would think Russian generals remembered about Ukrainian MUD that’s been bogging them down here and there ... it hasn’t been that long.

Putin claims that he invaded Ukraine to protect the ethnic Russians living there. Perhaps China will someday invade Siberia to “protect” the ethnic Chinese living there.

Wouldn’t that be ironic?

MSM said Russia lost 20,000 in the first month of the war. Close enough I guess not that I trust any numbers being reported by anybody.

Rush

Bump!

Putin was the accountant. He is referred to among some Russians as the RF Engineer. That confused me at first. I thought of a radio frequency engineer. What that meant was:

“Russian Federation Engineer”

Afghanis had those mountains and caves to hide in that they knew well for generations. Quite a different fight there. Never underestimate the role of geography in warfare.

I can tell dailymail Ukraine articles by reading the headline.

Russia has deployed about 15% of its professional forces and will still win against everything NATO can throw at them. They are going to win this war. 2,400 swastika-festooned AZOV “heroes” surrendered at Avostal this week. 15,000 of their best forces are about to be encircled within days in Sverodonetsk. They were equipped with unlimited western weapons and 8 years of NATO training. This debacle will be the end of NATO, the EU and the Petrodollar and you can blame it on the West’s feasting on its own propaganda.
