States like California that have a 3 violent felony strikes law, and are controlled by Democrats, won’t pursue felony charges, even if it involves violent behavior because they’re too lazy to do the work. It’s easier to just charge them with a misdemeanor and get rid of the case. Nobody ever does the time for the actual crime they commit these days. Plea deals give DA’s more spare time to devote to politicking, and raising campaign funds. Also, by not pursuing violent felony offenders, and letting them plead to a lesser charge, makes it look like you don’t have a violent crime problem. It’s all smoke and mirrors, because they want to get reelected.
