I think your post #24 is stellar and point-on.
That's what mainstream media sources want you to think.
If you'd venture outside your bubble, you'll find irrefutable proof that Ukraine is deliberately targeting their own citizens and staging war scenes to blame the Russians.
The following were all faked by Ukraine:
- The Ghost of Kyiv bomber
- Zelensky joining his troops in battle
- Surrendering and exeuction of those Russian sailors
- Russia trapping Ukrainians in a factory (It's actually Ukraine doing this)
Russia has also distributed tons of humanitarian food and aid and have allowed Ukrainians to reunite with family members.
When all is said and done, a lot of people are going to be sheepishly chowing down crow.
“ What you don’t realize is that has always been the case. Both governments know what steps might lead to that, so they will be careful to avoid it.”
Getting in the middle of a hot war is not avoiding it.
Diplomacy is good. Carefully planned and implemented sanctions could be too, provided that we are not hurting ourselves more than Russia. So far, we’ve seen the opposite of these things. Total stupidity. And a lot of folks here are hung ho to double down on stupid.
The specific compromises you suggest might be fine and good, but they are not for you or the United States to decide. We are not the world police. We need to focus on how these decisions affect America.
“I assume Putin or whoever replaces him will be a semi-rational agent and will weigh what the Soviets used to call, “the objective correlation of forces.”
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is very likely to be Putin’s successor. And like Putin he is warning that Russia is willing to use nuclear weapons if threatened. 56 yrs old. He could be around a long time.
Dwight Eisenhower knew a lot about war and he refused to let America be drawn into a direct war with Russia.
There were plenty of opportunities for every President since the day that the Iron Curtain rolled down to blunder into a world war. None did.
But we never before had fools in charge who thought that rolling the dice over nuclear war is a good idea. We do now.
Nothing we are doing is threatening Russia’s existence.
So Freepers opposing the socialist one world government types need to be banned from your website. This shit started under The BLACK messiah Oboma, took a 4 year break then ramped under Biteme. You put all that together to the logical opinion that conservatives, that see Ukraine as a corrupt hell hole as the ones needing a good banning.
Wow. You cheer homeland security, DHS now office of disinformation? E what mighty intellect you possess.
Ban me MFer. I want nothing to do with it all. The treasury had been looted, Homos run the country, we are picking a nuclear exchange …. I’m against all that. You know. Conservative principals.
How many nukes can they deliver? I would like to know. Long range #s that can hit the US and how many can hit Europe?
Putin got his ass kicked when his army cried and ran away from Kyiv. You can spam me with your delusion but that's just stupid on an EPIC Level. Russians are targeting civilians for slaughter and 5.3 million Ukrainians have fled from the country to save their lives from the invading Russians. But at least you had to admit Russians got their butts kicked, cried and ran away from Kyiv.Because as I have previously stated, Putin is going to great lengths to minimize non-combatant causalities. He has given Ukraine countless chances to succeed.
“Never in my wildest dreams was I wear that so many Freepers support Putin. They should be thrown off the site and out of the country.”
Never in my wildest dreams was I wear that so many Freepers support Biden and his puppet Zelensky. They should be thrown off the site and out of the country.
Awesome. God bless!
When I looked at all who were in tandem with Zel that was disconcerting to me.
Domestically, this rhetoric is necessary to prepare the ground for a nationwide draft. The Russians are running out of uninjured front-line troops. They need more manpower at the front.
Putin can’t exactly say to Russians - “I tried to become Vladimir the Greater on a budget, but this effort failed miserably, so I’m doubling down”. So he’s got to go on and on about how his foot on Ukraine’s throat is actually the West’s foot on Russia’s throat. When Hitler went on about how extirpating Jewish and Communist influences were the cause of his crusade in the East, it was similarly a fig leaf for his quest for personal glory. Again, no leader is gonna say - my ego, my quest to match Alexander’s achievements is the reason you’re risking life and limb - he’d be thought a sociopathic dirtbag and be courting a coup or an assassination.
Good point. But that's exactly why we should disregard those threats.
Sure, Jan. Did Don Lemon whisper that into your ear?
“Nothing we are doing is threatening Russia’s existence.”
Until you become the Russian president your opinion doesn’t matter one iota.
If Russia is really that irrational, then it's just Nazi Germany with nukes, in which case the imperative is to find a way to destroy it as efficaciously as possible. You can't "leave them alone" when no rational judgment is possible about what "leaving them alone" means.
Sure, Jan. Did Don Lemon whisper that into your ear? It's not like you were going to reply with something intelligent after asserting that Russia cried and ran away from Kyiv because they don't want to hurt civilians.
Well, one unintelligent pyschobabble post deserves an equal in response.
“Putin just wants his territory back.”
That just includes Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, East Germany, Lithuania, the Baltics, and all the Stans. After that do you REALLY think he will stop? Fortunately, he is likely to be dead before getting much of this done, even if he does survive his cancer surgery.
