The Memorial Day saddles for head stones cost three times as much this year as last. They start at about $150. At some point people have to say no but I’m not seeing much of that if any. The youngsters see it all as “normal” and buy as long as they can.

At Lowes I did not hear anyone say, “that’s too much”. I did see some people at the grocery store looking and passing by and a few nos to children for snacks and such.

Crappy 7/16” blandex is like $53 a sheet and 3/4” advantec is $80 and I don’t yet see any price resistance. 18 months ago $17 was high for Blandex and $27 was about right for advantec. They claim all the resin comes from china. PVC has gone into the stratosphere.

Interest rates have not had much effect on building yet. Where homes go down apartment building goes up it seems.

I still have HotWheels car models that I received from purchasing gas in the late 1960's, but disposed of the stamps (S&H etc) that were used to trade for kitchen goods. Gas then was about 22 cents a gallon. And full service (I worked at gas stations back then). More inflation coming, and it will be much worse.
