“I went to an Arby’s for a chicken sandwhich and practically gagged on it - needless saying it went in the trash and I won’t be eating there again.”
bidenomics? or does arby’s just suck?
good gosh, man, isn’t there a wendy’s nearby? their chili is WAY tastier and WAY healthier than the McD’s stuff you treat yourself with ... though probably price increases for that too ...
Chichen was deep fried but looked like it had been sitting under a warming tray far too long. Plus gal at the counter took an ugly pill that morning without question.

Wendy’s is the best of all the “joints”.
I'm a 78 year old male and I do exactly the opposite.
I eat out once a week. Mostly I make big posts of stews, soups, beans and rice, etc. I separate it out into individual servings and freeze it. I just completed making a 25 serving pot of taco soup, I love it.
(ahem)I have some really big pots and four deep freezes.
“will and have cut back on eating out”
assuming someone in your family has the time and inclination to cook or even shop for pre-cooked items like Sam’s rotisserie chickens, ya’ll can eat much tastier and much healthier and much less expensive than eating out ... a freezer helps as you can make large batches and freeze smaller portions so you don’t have to cook as often ... a food saver type of vacuum sealer can help with that too ...
I’ve been making my own burgers from grass clippings. I tow my barbeque around with me behind my lawn and garden tractor.
I cook and freeze portions. Works better than trying to stomach the frozen meals in the dairy cases. My gosh they’re awful!
Crock pot a Roast, Chicken etc.
Spagetti
Soups
etc.
All good for the freezer.
Masked Blue city women caused me to change my dating habits.
You snuck that in at an appropriate part of the debate:)
New math.
There is little that an individual can do other than vote for MAGA candidates, and what is necessary to maintain their budgets without going into debt.
I love to cook. The way I stop being pissed off about food prices and the economy, at least for part of the day, is to challenge myself to make low cost meals from scratch. I add one little twist to that, they need to be incredibly great tasting. I also eat a lot of left overs - all my leftovers - no waste, often retasking them or embellishing them so I am not repeatedly eating same thing. For instance, earlier this week I had salmon cakes (salmon from a can) for dinner with my daughter (servings #1 and #2). I haven't had that for years, maybe decades. But these salmon cakes were delicious far beyond my expectations. You would never know it wasn't fresh salmon.
This morning for brunch, I had a leftover salmon cake (serving #3) with a poached egg on top and garnished with finely chopped parsley (grown indoors) and cracked pepper. It looked great and tasted great. There really is something about 'first eating with your eyes'.
I still have one salmon cake leftover (serving #4) for another day - perhaps a sandwich on a toasted homemade roll with homemade spicy mayo, a little lettuce and a slice of tomato. All of that comes from one can of salmon.
I basically make three meals per week and have retasked leftovers the rest of the week. It is pretty easy since I only eat two meals per day, with breakfast as a primary meal. I have eggs for breakfast almost every day. It is cheaper than cold boxed cereal and there are so many different things you can do with eggs. I often have a side of grits, hominy, homemade cornmeal mush, oatmeal, and cream of wheat or rice with breakfast - all cheaper than cold boxed cereal. To balance things out I have a glass of fruit juice or a piece of fruit. Fruit by the way is quite expensive, so I have reduced the amount I eat and replace with fruit juice. I can't wait for the next few months when I can pick strawberries, blueberries and later blackberries. That's much cheaper than buying them grocery store.

Actually, I think Arby’s is one of the better food chains. They have a new and really good spicy fish sandwich that I find delicious (I like spicy/hot foods) and their non-spicy fish sandwich is better than any other chain’s fish sandwiches with the possible exception of Long John Silvers. Arby’s beef sandwiches are great, esp. with Horsey sauce and BBQ sauce packets combined on top. Their Reuben sandwiches are very good; they have lots of good stuff on their menu. I love Arby’s. Better than McD’s (although I like McD’s too for certain things. A tad more expensive at Arby’s, but larger and better quality stuff.
Funny, but true.
That's the way I grew up in the 60's and 70's. It was a big occasion to go out to a restaurant. It really meant something. Mom made dinner at home every night. It was a huge break for her and an adventure for us kids. (Actually a break for us kids too. We didn't have to wash dishes.) If you go to restaurants multiple nights per week it becomes normal and it is not special. I think people will slowly discover that in the coming year or two. The impact could be dramatic ... fewer restaurants, but better quality. It will be the survival of the fittest going through this recession.
Arby has a good deal on sliders from 2 to 5. Two is all you can eat and they are only $1 each.
Those critter from the Fear Factor are starting to look real delicious, said no one - including the starving guy eating grass.
I always hated Wendy’s food—not sure why—I guess everyone’s tastes are different.
If you live in a big metro area, many stores offer fresh complete meals on the fly. All you have to do is nuke it in the microwave oven. Many of these high end meals are half the cost of going to a restaurant. If you live in a smaller metro area in flyover country, options are still available but Filet Mignon isn't likely an option...
