DeSantis threatens Disney’s special status in Florida

Ron DeSantis on Tuesday said that the state’s legislature will consider terminating the special status of a municipal district operated by Walt Disney Co., the Wall Street Journal reports.

It’s an escalation in the weeks-long feud between the Republican governor and Disney.

“We are expanding the call of what the state legislature will be considering this week,” DeSantis said, per Bloomberg. “They also will be considering termination of all special districts that were enacted in Florida prior to 1968, and that includes the Reedy Creek Improvement District.”

Good. I dislike Florida weather, but their politics is admirable for the most part.

I believe this doesn’t kick in until early 2023. After the mid-terms when it can be quietly repealed.

Now all I need are 4 seasons in Florida, and far fewer alligators. Then I might be swayed enough to move back.

Ya mean we might not get to see a totally repulsive Tinkerbell with a beard, multicolorad hair and an enormous schwanstucker or Captain Cook with boobs, weighing 550 pounds, also with multicolored hair and a hose ring?

They have a very solid majority. 77 to 42... would need 18 defections for it to be stopped in the house.

Good. Should have never been allowed to occur.

It was based partly on Walt Disney’s plans to actually build a working city and be in charge of it. The City of Tomorrow was not just supposed to be a typical ride/park attraction.

Would love to be a mouse in the corner of the executive suite today...this will END Disney! Imagine just having county law enforcement take over, how many complaints would no longer just disappear...

Disney has brought this on themselves and before they lose 55% of the Country they need to terminate the radical “suits” that are actively poisoning our youth.
