Bezos’ Grandfather Helped Found DARPA. Before That Though, L.P. Gise Was A High-Level Director At The AEC.

L.P. Gise’s tenure at the AEC overlaps with the formation of a company near Pittsburgh that would, by 1965, “lose” enough weapon’s grade uranium to make six nuclear bombs.

Jeffrey Preston Bezos’ mother, Jacklyn Bezos (nee’ Gise) was the daughter of Lawrence Preston Gise (L.P. Gise.)

L.P. Gise had a very fascinating career in the service of the U.S. Government during the four decades following World War II. This piece only looks at all small sliver of his resume in the roughly 1957-to-1959-time frame.

In the 1957 to 1959 timeframe, with Chairman Strauss at the helm of the AEC, the first commercial license to manufacture weapons grade Uranium was awarded to newly formed NUMEC located in Apollo, Pennsylvania.

In 1965, about 300 lbs. of weapons grade uranium, enough to make about six nuclear bombs, was discovered missing by AEC inspectors. In about 1968, when the Israeli’s tested their first nuke, the CIA determined the material came from the NUMEC plant in Apollo.

As Assistant Director at the AEC’s Division of Military Applications of the AEC, we do not think it is much of a stretch to surmise that L.P. Gise had some say when NUMEC applied for its commercial license to make weapons grade uranium for the only buyer of weapons grade uranium, which was the US Military.

I’m a nuke. Worked for NUMEC briefly. Great company. There was also discussion that the loss was not a loss but bad bookkeeping. Worlds largest biz jet air port was Allegheny County where I got my pilots license. Westinghouse had about 3 Lear jets there. It was near Bettis Atomic Power Lab, operated by the Nuc Navy where I also work which reported to Admiral Richover, a genius engineer and administrator. Admiral Richover was Jewish. Always wondered if there might be a connection with getting material to Israel, but have no faults with anyone if that was the case.

Interesting. I think it is pretty well established that HEU used by the Israelis for their first nuke bomb test in 1968 was from NUMEC. (ie. the isotopes tested after the explosion could only come from NUMEC.)

There is a Rickover connection, but nothing implicates Rickover.

The founder of NUMEC, Zalman Shapiro, was on Rickover's Nuclear Boat program. Zalman is a lot of researchers primary suspects, but for a variety of reasons, do not think so. Interestingly, Arlen "Single-Bullet" Specter, tried to get Shapiro's name cleared in about 1992 as a Senator.

Another guy who worked under Rickover and with Shapiro was Merson Booth. Booth was a US Navy Officer/Engineer. After he left the Navy, he went to go work at the AEC in the commercial licensing division. His name shows up in 1960 after an incident at the Westinghouse Facility at Waltz Mills. (30 miles south of Apollo, and near Kecksburg PA. [The timing of the Kecksburg UFO incident in 1965 is another interesting coincidence.])

It's a very deep hole.

Booth's son married a Russian Princess Irina (House of Troubetzkoy.)

Her Sister (Princess Natalia) married "Peter Derby."

Derby implies in a 1998 interview his father is Canadian Ambassador to the UN George Ignatieff.

Before that Ignatieff was Ambassador to Yugoslavia in about 1958. Ignatieff definitely knew Dimitri Demorensheld, the brother of George Demorensheld, who was Oslwalds friend. George spent much of 1958 in Yugoslavia according to what he told the Warren Commission.
