They have all the POWER, doncha know, and will not relinquish it until it is snatched from their hands.
But would I board an airplane for ANY reason now? Sooner drive a 5,000 mile round trip, using $7/gallon gasoline, than go through the fascist types in TSA to get aboard an airplane where even more fascist types demand an inordinate degree of conformity.
I have flown once since the shutdown...and it was so unpleasant I’m waiting it out until sanity returns, even though I have a huge number of frequent flier miles accumulated from my glorious traveling past.
But the airport itself is hellacious. The TSA is on steroids now, I can’t stand the PA system announcements all the time (it’s like being in prison), and I simply can’t wear a mask.
On my one flight where everybody had to wear a mask, I kept my head down on my arms on my tray table so nobody could see that I wasn’t keeping my mask over my mouth and nose. It wasn’t a very comfortable trip...
I haven’t been back to Europe or abroad at all since the shutdown, and when I travel domestically, I drive...no matter how far it is. I consider it an extended vacation.
