Democratic senators announced on Wednesday that a deal has been reached to prevent Senate cafeteria workers from losing their jobs, just days after they said they received notices from their employer that they were being laid off.
The announcement came during a demonstration led by workers, union representatives and a number of lawmakers, ranging from Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) to Reps. Cori Bush (D-Mo.), Adriano Espaillat (D-N.Y.) and others.

The Navy Bean Soup is served there daily for less Than $4.00 - pretty much a tradition and sure the Senators don’t want to lose the convenience of having food at reasonable prices as one of their many perks!

You want these people wearing hairnets.
Just replace the place with a McDonald’s or Blaze Pizza and let members and the public pay market prices without government subsidies.
God Forbid that the members of Congress should be reduced to bringing in bag lunches like mere plebeians.
The cafeteria in the Senate office building was always the place for us to get lunch when visiting DC.
