Maine Gov. Janet Mills (D) offered electric vehicles as a solution to Mainers’ increased energy costs during a recent discussion with a Northeastern University technology center in Portland.
A host read questions to Mills during the March 30 discussion, and on one related to energy costs, which the host noted were “top of mind for many,” she asked Mills, “What do you see as the best short-term solution, and then maybe some of the longer-term ideas that you and the administration have?”

These people are so out of touch it’s truly pathetic. Nobody has $50,000 under their sofas to buy a damn electric car, especially in a rugged, forested state like Maine that’s subject to severe weather. Also didn’t this state just kill an electric power transmission line or something?
Dims are already jacking up power rates too. When they succeed in moving people to EV’s they’ll jack up rates a lot more.
Looking at the population density map for the state. I’m sure you could get some recharges in the population clusters down south but driving through the rest of the state will be a real bitch with an EV.

This is about controlling your movement.
These cars ranges are not as good if you charge them for battery longevity. Heat and cold reduce the range as well.
Further if you do long travel government knows exactly where you are every time you charge. You can only charge via a credit card or electronic pymt service. No cash. Cant fill up extra containers for future use either.
Now consider if their social credit system gets implemented that they are so desperately wanting to put in place, they all of a sudden restrict how much you can charge, or not charge at all.
Talk to the wrong people? Friends with wrong folks? Make comments not government approved? Visit web sites that aren’t government friendly?
If we could afford new electric cars, high gas prices wouldn’t be a problem. This is not rocket science.
