Oh wait…
Schiff in hand and wish in the other. See which one fills up first!
So I’m going to have to use a skateboard to go to work?
Some consolidation prize for the families of those 6 young girls that were crammed into a 2000 pound sardine can and got hit by a dump truck
If they’d been in a 50s Chrysler sedan, they’d have barely broken a fingernail
“Another slam at getting gasoline driven vehicles off the road for the electric crapola”
Exactly. They will force people who want to stick to internal combustion engines to drive down the road in tin cans in order to meet the fuel standards in order to “fight climate change.”
Meanwhile, nothing will be said about the environmental impact of lithium mining for electric vehicle batteries.
CW2 is the only solution. The insanity needs to stop now.
ROTFLMAO! The liberals been hittin’ da happy smoke again.
48? Why not 100, or 200? Incrementalism is everywhere in culture and government. Everything leftists touch, they destroy.
The idiots are trying to force the auto industry to make EVs that use just as much oil , half an EV is made from oil ,LOL
They’ll be a gas guzzler toll on the freeway. More new taxes.
yeah huh, they’ll be 40 mpg until 10 minutes after you drive it off the lot
The EV crap will force ICVs to have cardboard bodies and plastic windows to meet MPG standards. The tires will become bike wheels that grip the road like on ice. The ride will become so noisy that you have to wear ear protection. The worst injuries will come from premature air-bag deployment from hitting potholes or becoming hit by those 4,555 lb Teslas.
Says who.???
The auto unions are going to lose a lot of members.
The auto industry & vendors to same will be teetering on bankruptcy.
IF it was that easy to have that kind of mileage, it would have been done before now.
I guess the fundamental, although quaint, question would be, why does the government get to make that decision?
I checked an article on the 10 best cars that currently get over 40 mpg. They are all hybrids. The tiny Chevrolet Spark gets 38 on the highway, 30 in the city. The even tinier so-called Smart car got 40 on the highway. Are those the kinds of cars the government is mandating?
I remember the changes in cars after the gas crisis of the ‘70s. Most of the land yachts went away and smaller cars became popular. A lot of them were terrible cars for a while, but they got better. What American manufacturers couldn’t provide, the Japanese and Koreans did. Was that change mandated by the government (I ask because I dont know) or was that the market responding to a need?
I see a lot of slightly used Mexican cars come 2026.
The Democratic devils need pitchforks.
Hopefully, UAW members have enough.
That’s insane.
