I’ve talked with a few men who provided training for Middle Eastern types. They each said that as soon as the trainees get excited, they forget all their training and just do whatever their culture has prepared them for. Few exception.

The enthusiastic response is due to the Ukraine’s offer of asylum for the duration of the war and then citizenship for Russian soldiers who defect. The Syrians volunteering for Russian service in the Ukraine think the Ukrainian offer will apply to them. And with Ukrainian, as opposed to Syrian, citizenship they can move to someplace nicer like France.
