Getting a little ahead of themselves, aren’t they? They don’t have the Ukraine yet.

Will Putin go Full Retard? Rattling his nuclear weapons and threatening invasion of NATO countries? He’s acting like a cornered animal. Never go Full Retard.

I doubt he wants them...Russia is hated more in the Baltics thank even Ukraine. More likely he’ll let them ‘enjoy’ the ‘social sophistication’ that the EU will require of them, and then patiently wait until they’ve had enough.

Had Ukraine gone as easily as they expected, Lithuania would be next. They would be certain that no one outside of Lithuania will be willing to go to war for Lithuania.

Russia can barely handle fighting on a single front...imagine trying to wage war on two.

Well to be blunt, if his performance so far in Ukraine is any indication, Putin would be lucky to take Lichtenstein....

“RUSSIAN state TV has aired a discussion on seizing the Baltic states as Nato bolster Eastern European allies with thousands more troops.”

Planning to get a bit overextended there Vlad? Might want to read up on Napoleon or Germany in WWII.

Putin’s personal astrologer must have told him that if he seized former soviet territory within this particular planetary configuration window his prostate cancer would go into remission.

But after the shellacking the Russians have taken in Ukraine, I don’t think they have any appetite for more. And Lithuania is probably pretty sure they could beat them.

Right - it’s the doves who decided to invade Ukraine.

Some years ago the Rand Institute ( a liberal think tank) and the Brookings Institute (a conservative think tank) war gamed a theoretical conflict between the USSR and NATO during the cold war. Both came to the same conclusion.

One side or the other would be faced with defeat on the battlefield while it was conventional weapons and non nuclear. When defeat was sure the losing side would go tactical nuclear weapons. The other side would also go tactical nuclear weapons and which time one would think it is a stalemate and just go home.

Both think tanks said it would go to intercontinental thermonuclear warfare, particularly if the Soviet block was losing due to internal politics of the old USSR.

So they can’t handle a one front war, and now they want to go to a two front war?!

It is possible the reason why CIS troops and equipment in far Western Belarus haven’t gone South has to do with Putin’s itch for the Suwalki Gap.

We have been monitoring huge infrastructure and weapons upgrades in Kaliningrad, since about 2002. In 2002-2003, this included only the beginning of 3rd and now 4th gen nuclear weapons and nuclear artillery, near constant area denial upgrades in anti-ground, anti-ship, and anti-air systems, and increases in supportive infrastructure for reinforced housing and survival.

Basically, the Russian Federation and CIS violated every weapons treaty signed, and triggered Bush 43 to order European missile defenses to be put in.

Putin told Obama to end the placement of missile defense systems, so he did.

When Trump took over, he immediately ordered “all hands on deck”, after being briefed on the strategic power of Kaliningrad, and the many strategic weapons violations.

Under Trump, we had temporary/mobile and permanent defensive systems like THAAD, Patriot, Aegis Ashore, and even played with Iron Dome. (Notice all of these are designed specifically to take down missiles/rockets, and not to take out city blocks or deliver nukes.

Additionally, Russia has twice flown both ground and air launched hypersonic missiles over Europe and the Eastern Atlantic. In one of those instances, lit flew out and back to Siberia.

It has happened several times in the past few decades, but in the past few weeks, Russian subs literally encircled Britain and just loitered. We have seen this right up to our 12nm territorial coastal boundary many times on both East and West coast as well. But in this context, Putin had just invaded Ukraine.

Actually, a fraction of what is in Kaliningrad could move East, and probably easily retake the Suwalki Gap reconnecting with Belarus, and still not be challenged.

Lots of stuff going on...

NATO countries should withdraw from mine prohibition and putting them everywhere. The UKRs used them effectively in a few places at the start of the conflict.

Might not be a good idea for the ROOSKIES to do that, I’m not sure but I think all 3 of the Baltic States are NATO members now.

I am SO glad we got rid of a genius in deal making and negotiating and replaced him with a corpse that has the IQ of a potato. All those people dying now, and these scumrats who lied about Hunters laptop I hope they are happy. They very well may have kicked off WW3 nuke style.
