Weren’t we hitching rides to the ISS before Musk came on the scene?

After the Shuttle was retired, the Russians were the only ride to the ISS, as well as the only resupply flights.

I don't know if SpaceX is ready to take over 100% of the crew ferry and ISS resupply missions yet.
