I was talking with the Distribution center General manager at my employer the other day. Between supply chain issues and inflation, the economy is “so strong” he told me he might have to begin layoffs soon.
He was very distressed about it and said it had been many years since they had to reduce headcount.
Maybe the distribution center is moving towards robots and other automation. Need fewer people to do the job.
I hear truck drivers are badly needed to move things to and fro.
