Open up US petroleum and natural gas exploration and transport, and re-engage the Liquified Natural Gas tanker transport system to foreign ports, particularly in Europe, thus undercutting the reliance of the Europeans on Nordstream natural gas pipeline systems.
Of course, opening up the production of US petroleum and natural gas would cause the “environmentalists” to go into shriek mode and their heads to explode, but really, that is the cleanest option we have on the near term, and vastly more reliable and responsible than pretending that wind or solar power sources could somehow fill the gap.
But only until we can be building Thorium-fueled molten salt nuclear reactors. On a mass production basis, with a new plant coming online every few weeks, or even faster. We have the technology, the system has been shown to be practical, and the reliability and safety exceed that of Uranium-fueled Light Water reactors.
