I fully expect July 4th to be eventually transferred to the nearest Monday and the holiday to be called Independence Weekend.

I believe Veterans’ Day was moved to a Monday, but veteran groups objected and it was restored to November 11. I’m old enough to remember its being called ‘Armistice Day’ that marked the end of World War I.

Or maybe they could combine Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Columbus Day, and Thanksgiving holidays all into one holiday called the Noteworthy Days national holiday.
