Ambassadors usually do not have to announce they are against suicide bombers.
But for one Biden nominee, it turned out to be necessary.
In 2006, Amy Gutmann was the president of the University of Pennsylvania. During a Halloween party in her home, she posed for a photo with a student who was dressed as a terrorist.
The picture resurfaced after Gutmann was approved by the Senate on Feb. 8 to be President Joe Biden’s ambassador to Germany.
According to a Jerusalem Post article from 2006, Gutmann only issued an apology after days of growing controversy over the costume worn by the Syrian-born engineering student.
In a statement, Gutmann said, “I abhor terrorism, suicide bombers and everything they do. My record is unabashedly clear on this point."
Not just clear, but unabashedly clear. She must have really meant it.

Would liberals use this to attack a conservative? Yes. But we don’t need to be every bit as childish and stupid as them... especially since conservatives don’t run the late-night news-comedy industry.

May the Bushies (RINOs) and the Democrats can work together to get \all\ costume parties cancelled and made socially unacceptable...then illegal.
The evangelicals will help because it will cancel Halloween.

I agree. IF the politics were reversed, the left wouldn’t hesitate to use something like this against a conservative. But it’s still ridiculous. If someone dressed as a vampire stood next to you at a Halloween party, would that imply you’re sympathetic to vampires? If someone dressed as Freddy Krueger or Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers stood next to you at a Halloween party, would you be accused on being in league with homicidal maniacs with outlandish wardrobes?
It really didn’t bother me at all and I thought it was nonsense to be upset at it.
Until I saw the photo.

If he was smiling in a dopey way then I would have considered it a bad taste parody.
But he looks serious. Like he’s on their side.
This is much ado over nothing. But given how stupid Biden is, he might replace this party “terrorist sympathizer” with an actual terrorist.
