That would be appeasement to a Russia that is in low standing and has little power. They can’t hold Urkraine. Russia is weak and this is why they only attack non NATO nations.

If that is truly the case then NATO no longer serves any purpose. The Europeans are surely capable of defending themselves from the "weak", "low standing" and "little power" Russian threat, correct?

These non-NATO countries could easily form their own alliances if they believe they are under the threat of imminent invasion or destruction from the Russian teddy bear, right?

In none of these scenarios is American blood and treasure required. The overtures of the Ukraine becoming a part of NATO should never have been made in the first place. What other way would Russia take such a move? Would we be more affable if China formed an alliance with Canada or Mexico?

This is a tribal conflict split along ethnic lines. I cannot see how this affects the security of the United States or frankly that of the European Union. Let their peoples settle their differences, and leave us the hell out of it.

It’s only appeasement if you want different things. Otherwise it’s a deal. Wouldn’t be the best option to have NATO agree to this but Ukraine most certainly should say they have no intention of joining NATO because they want to have strong ties with western Europe and Russia. Not everything has to be war. They were so afraid that Trump would accept Ukraine having a friendly relationship with their neighbor that they destroyed the whole country before they would see it happen. I suggest that 75% of the people in America could solve this “problem “ inside of a month. It’s not solved because the so called elites don’t want it to be solved. Same with the middle east by the way. Trump proved this can all be solved easily.
