Canadian police block over 30 crypto wallets associated with the ‘Freedom Convoy’ truckers

A total of 34 cryptocurrency wallets allegedly associated with the Canadian truckers protesting COVID-19 restrictions, which had been raising money with Bitcoin for the Freedom Convoy 2022 campaign have reportedly been blocked.

In particular, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Canada’s national police force has issued an order requiring all FINTRAC-regulated organizations in Canada to stop interacting with 34 crypto wallets, according to The Counter Signal.

It is still unknown whether or not this request from the police will result in a breakdown in the disbursement of the funds. The order comes after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergency Act for the first time since 1988 in response to the continuing trucker protests on February 14.

“The Ontario Provincial Police and Royal Canadian Mounted Police are currently investigating cryptocurrency donations being collected in relation to illegal acts falling under the scope of the Emergency Measures Act,” the RCMP order states."

"Pursuant to the Emergency Economic Measures Order, under subsection 19(1) of the Emergencies Act, there is a duty to cease facilitating any transactions pertaining to the following cryptocurrency address(es)."

At least one wallet containing more than $1 million in Bitcoin has been verified as being a part of the HonkHonkHodl effort to support truckers through cryptocurrencies, which became one of the critical ways of contributing to the truckers following GoFundMe’s decision not to distribute $9 million raised on its platform.

Doubt if donations via GiveSendGo or from the USA can be done with cash. Cash gets confiscated by authorities if a person has “too much” in their opinion.

If they used Binance or private wallet as they’d be better off. Can’t use Coinbase, Crypto.com or FTX as they are regulated

So let me get this right, no government has been able to block any crypto currency to date for all the illegal hacking., ransomware and other crimes.

But today somehow Canada can now block anonymous crypto currency, the very thing all have bene told was why crypto currency exists, to prevent governments form do such a thing.

Anyone see a problem here?

“If I were a Canadian police, I would WALK OFF THE JOB”

Didn’t the Ottawa police chief do just that a few days ago?

All those wallets have to do is transfer the funds to a different wallet. Its inconsequential to do this. Once that is completed the non-blocked new wallet can transfer funds out via an exchange.

The only way to stop this is to ban ALL cryto exchange transactions. Only an authoritarian would take that step.

I have the same questions. I thought crypto currency was outside any control or view of any governmental authority. I thought that was a key selling point of crypto.

Yup. And I'm certain that the Canadian (or American) government had absolutely nothing to do with the hacking of GiveSendGo's database. 100% positive.

This is actually quite chilling. There really is no freedom left, nowhere to run.

It is, as was just pointed out, all they have to do is transfer to a different WALLET.

Otherwise the real cat is out of the bag and the globalist just showed their ass, if they can block crypto and are willing to make that public, they are seriously panicking.

Who do you think did the hacking, since you’re “100% positive” about who did NOT?

TIA.
