When great tv shows like TMZ show the court tapes where the woman is tearfully regaling her brief sexual association with one of her “now he’s not my friend “ partner, the film will usually have a blue dot 🔵 over her face. Only her friends and associates will recognize her voice.
Rape trials and assaults in general are not ever televised.
A basic conservative belief in the early 1960s was need for Balanced Budgets. And based on that they opposed JFKs tax cuts. Bob Novak reported this debate at the time and it’s described in his memoir. It wasn’t a conservative policy until Reagan adopted it during the 1980 campaign.
Likewise the idea that Kennedy was eager to get out of Vietnam is nonsense. He had just instigated a coup that got Diem assassinated, not what you do when you’re trying to extricate yourself from that mess
The trial was televised. The victim had a dot covering her face during televised coverage of the trial.

The William Kennedy Smith rape trial was televised. I watched it. Teddy even testified.

JFK changed his mind on many issues in a very short period of time—his Vietnam policy was all over the place.
Further adding to the confusion was a CIA under Allen Dulles that had a habit of “going rogue” from time to time—and had a tendency to “present a narrative” rather than “just the facts”.
There is some evidence (debatable, but some evidence) that JFK had his doubts about Vietnam policy by 1963—after he had fired Allen Dulles.
I don't think JFK was a closet conservative. The 'rat party in those days was simply more conservative than it later became. Back then one could be anti-communist and democrat. Now the democrats are the communists.

Ok, thanks for posting. I heard about that. Horrible! Grown man having “affair” (too nice a word) with 14-year-old babysitter. Too bad he wasn’t punished.
However, the 1960s era liberal was definitely not an economic conservative. The Democrats of that era supported confiscatory income taxes, mandatory union membership, high minimum wages, and strict regulation of industry and commerce. Both the Goldwater and Rockefeller wings of the GOP were more free market oriented. The Rockefeller wing, ancestor of today's RINOs, did not want to repeal the New Deal or the Fair Deal. Even Reagan touched neither FDR/Truman era legislation, nor LBJ's Great Society and Nixon's EPA and OSHA. Ditto for Trump.
If JFK were alive today, and he would be 104 years old if he were, he would be at least a social conservative, unless, like countless other liberal politicians, he "evolved" into the liberal position du jour.
I hope he talked with all those congressional ‘Pages’ that were there when he was wasting oxygen.
My son knows the babysitter pretty well. Her family lived in our town and many people speculated that the girl”s father had Michael “taken out” so to speak. Yes, he was killed in a skiing accident but did he actually slam into that tree by accident.
As an aside, Michael’s daughter has also suffered from the Kennedy curse. She is now confined to a wheelchair.
You know this still is going on.

What the FBI found out is deleted from the publicly available files.
