A grieving sea of Blue lines 5th Avenue and says — enough!
NY Post ^ | 28 Jan 2022 | Bob McManus

Cop lives mattered outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral Friday.

Perhaps not since America welcomed its victorious legions home from Europe in 1945 have New York’s streets seen a uniformed presence quite like the blue wall that stood tall in Fifth Avenue Friday. They had come to honor the sacrifice of NYPD Officer Jason Rivera — murdered at 22 in service to a too-often-ungrateful city.

On Wednesday, Officer Wilbert Mora — mortally wounded alongside Rivera in a Harlem apartment last week — will himself be laid to rest from the cathedral. His sacrifice was no less profound, but it will be hard to replicate Friday’s extraordinary scene.

So glad to see this. Cardinal Dolan prayed for Officer Rivera by name at Mass last Sunday in St Patrick’s Cathedral, where the funeral was held today.

I was very moved by the young widow’s speech today.

What she’s going through is something that I can’t imagine dealing with, and I hope nobody else in the future experiences.

God bless her and the others grieving this good man.

The NYPD, if they didn’t concur with letting perps roam free, would start pulling the protective detail of the mayor and the court officials, and tell the prosecutor’s office to not call the police for anything. Instead, the NYPD brass supports the policies that protect their pensions at the expense of cops in the field.

The New York City Police Chief knelt in solidarity with Democrat rioters and looters as well as Communist organizations such as Black Lives MatterTM. They also knelt in defiance of illegal diktats to "social distance" and wear masks and enforced shut downs of businesses and fined innocent civilians.

What are the rank and file going to do about it? (besides nothing)

NYC needs martyrs, people that are willing to give up everything, their job, reputation and even life so that some other hero can get all the glory.

So the overwhelming majority of NYC Cops are registered Democrats - been that way since Tammany Hall - when are they going to realize who they are voting for?

Conservatives support our men and women in Blue... Prayers for our protectors... and a pox on the fake prosecutors bought by Soros.

Perhaps by party registration because of social/corrupt union pressure but bet ya most voted for President Trump. In any case, the comments earlier are correct - change starts when cops refuse to enforce immoral Covid laws, refuse to engage in reverse discrimination Woke politics like BLM, giving Antifa thugs the beating they never got from their brain dead parents, and letting NYCs elite experience the fear and panic the rest of us do when it comes to walking city streets.

I cried when I heard about this young man ...

It was hard to listen to his wife and brother yesterday ...

The true raw emotion ...

Amen.

But according to the Officer Down Memorial Page http://www.odmp.org statistics she will be joined by about one hundred more, each and every year.
