i remember this day, 11 yr old watching the news with my dad, nd the news of the fire came on.. I a complete all things space nut was crushed.. when i was older i red several books on the fire and the cause, Just like challenger and Columbia,
Yeah, I don’t think so. Moon and 9/11 conspiracies bother me the most of all.

I have plenty myself, from moon to JFK. I don’t need to see any more on these older subjects. Thanks for the link though, but it’s not for me.
AFAIK, no one did advocate that at NASA, or anywhere else in government.
Do you doubt for one instant that CNN would withhold anything that put the USA in general and Ronald Reagan in particular in a bad light?

There was a bad feeling among many working with Apollo 1 prior to the accident. Several NASA contractors that I talked with thought something bad was going to happen.
I recall seeing the shack that housed the damaged capsule in the swamp on the North side of NASA Langley. Later it was apparently moved to an environmentally-controlled warehouse several feet away.

I see you're one of those who would attempt to strengthen the weakness of your viewpoint by the well-worn, propagandistic CIA technique of smearing those that are exposing evidence, keying-in the mind-numbed whom to disregard out of hand, lest they be tempted to become better informed.
Dozens of experts have made well-researched presentations of important evidence that runs contrary to NASA's official narrative about the Apollo "moon missions" and the reasonable implications that audiences should take from them.
But such researchers' well-directed energy is often short-circuited. Without any substantial counter-evidence, our media and governmental organs "pull out the knives" of character assassination to "kill the messenger." Take just just one aspect of how this happens via a recounting of the aftermath of the 236 lives lost aboard TWA800 on 7/17/1996 (Wow, what a group of 7 and 17's!)

'This gatekeeper role of the Times in the cover-up became particularly crucial once the high-profile figure of Pierre Salinger entered the controversy. If Salinger had hoped his prestigious standing and long journalistic record would insulate him from attacks, he was sorely mistaken, and instead the threat his stature and credibility posed to the cover-up unleashed an unprecedented barrage of insult, ridicule, and invective, with the New York Times running 18 consecutive articles attacking him, and America’s leading news magazines, Time and Newsweek adding their own denunciations. Such remarkable vilification may have partly been aimed at dissuading any other prominent figures from similarly breaking ranks and following Salinger’s lead in exposing the true facts, and if so, the effort succeeded and the cover-up held.
Prior to Salinger’s regime disloyalty, he had regularly appeared on leading American television news broadcasts and his opinions were treated with the great deference accorded to a highly-respected elder statesman; afterward he was purged and blacklisted, shunned by our elite media as a “conspiracy nut.” Indeed, upon his death a few years later, the disloyalty he had shown to his establishment colleagues seriously tainted his NYT obituary, which closed by describing the “strange turn” he had taken in advocating theories based upon “discredited” evidence.
I don’t doubt that numerous other prominent figures quietly took the lesson of Salinger’s defenestration to heart, much as high-ranking Soviet leaders noted the dire implications of questioning Stalin’s pronouncements.'
In decades of better academic rigor, one might have seen the educated populace following the details (if not chasing them down themselves with their own resources), in earnest efforts to deal with whatever the implications would be, in the best traditions of renowned detectives, both real and fictional. Discussion and critique of such sleuths are openly allowed. When political parties or the government is involved, however, most everything usually changes, to the detriment of the public's interests.
But in this Operation Mockingbird and propagandistic-sensitive age, those following after the model of Pavlov's dog droolingly are trained to recognize whom they are to ridicule once the conspiracy theory moniker is drawn from the holster. Hopefully, FR doesn't quarter too many of those.
I’ll never forget that night. January 27 is my birthday and Hub and I were on our way to dinner to celebrate and heard it on the radio. It was a horrible time for Houston and the nation. Very sad period in history.....:(
