This old Army guy knows nothing about the Navy but I've watched many of those videos of carrier flight deck operations on youtube (I love ‘em). Seems to me that “incidents” of that sort absolutely shouldn't be happening. Poor training? Poor leadership? All you carrier vets should weigh in here.
