FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26 NEWS) — A Med-Evac helicopter trying to leave Fresno was told to stay put Monday, along with many other flights trying to leave the area.
The FAA isn’t saying why it issued the ground stop, but it came immediately after North Korea’s missile tests.
The Fresno Airport says it wasn’t notified of a ground stop, because the FAA oversees all air traffic and oversees the tower at FAT. The airport says there were no major delays around the ground stop.
We do, know, however, that a CALSTAR Med-Evac helicopter that flew to CRMC was temporarily stuck in Fresno because of the ground stop. Air traffic audio recorded a flight controller telling those aboard the helicopter that all flights were stopped.

The NORKs can’t hit the USA, but the FAA is worried about them hitting a med-evac chopper in Fresno?
Sounds legit to me.

15 minute time out, likely didn’t have much impact on flights

Afraid it might be a Chinese hypersonic missle?
I think they can reach American mainland.
An EMP at10,000 feet would take out half of California.
I dont think commercial aviation is EMP hardend. Perhaps FAA just figured... ehhh just hold off taking off till this thing passes.
I think you have it right. EMP would potentially knock out aircraft in flight (as well as disable automobiles with electronic ignitions). The intelligence services must have put out a warning that the FAA is acting upon.
Planes all along the West Coast were brought to a GROUND STOP.
