The Dems are going to hammer this - like “Russia Collusion” - all the way to the 2022 mid-terms. And it will backfire on them, as so many of their scheme do:
The Russia hoax has never “backfired” on the Dems because it is a bipartisan operation. Hard to see 1/6 doing much for MAGA either. It might elect a few assistant Democrats in the GOP but that isn’t “winning” in my book.
+1
The bipartisan campaign to prevent Trump from acting as President was so intense, so sustained, and so successful that it's hard to pick out individual examples of GOP collusion.
But certainly the fact that McConnell and Ryan allowed the Mueller investigation to begin, and in fact warned the new and inexperienced President Trump that he risked removal if he interfered (in May and June 2017) is a smoking gun for those who are able to see the GOP for what it is.
The first time a federal investigation into "RussiaRussiaRussia" was whispered about, probably the day Schumer demanded Sessions's recusal, any normal political movement which was in reality what the GOP pretends to be would have screamed at the top of its lungs, "The hell you will! Sessions stays, no special prosecutor, and not one penny from this Congress!"
But that's not what happened, is it?
