Geez, we haven't finished burying the millions of bodies from the last storm

That's only because burying the bodies from COVID is taking top priority.

Soon, we are going to run out of cemeteries to bury them in.

They ain’t hiding. They got it. 2/3rds of my sons work place has it and are out and they decided to shut down for the next. My shops are running on skeleton crew. We usually have 12 at a shop most are down to 2 or 3. Customers are also way down. It’s hit hard round here.

Don’t the Eskimos have a million or so words for snow?

In the olden days the TV weatherman would have called this “An Alberta Clipper” or “A Siberian express.”

Now they invent new scary terms for a blizzard.

A "BOMB CYCLONE"? Holy crap, that's worse than a Polar Vortex..........

Geeze, they keep coming up with these worser and worser names for winter storms..........Can't wait for the next one.

How about a Neutron or Nuclear Nor-Easter?

It’s fear porn. Nobody cares how it developed or an origin. For a hundred years it was a North Easter snow storm or an Artic cold front ... but a bomb cyclone or polar vortex is so much scarier.

I know about a dozen people in the DC area who have Covid now. They describe it as a head cold.

Stopped at a grocery store in Alexandria today. It was packed. Only 4 carts left.

They seem to be more afraid of 1-3” of snow than a head cold!!!

I always thought Alberta Clipper would be a perfect name for a TV weather-gal.

When I lived in Montana and Minnesota, snow and wind were pretty common in December. In Montana, occasionally in August too.

The “bombing” occurs when a low pressure system’s central pressure falls 24 millibars in 24 hours or less. The official term is explosive cyclogenesis, or bombogenesis which is actually really common. It can happen with any weather phenomenon, not just snow.

The term's use sounds more like a weather channel handwringer mechanism like thundersnow or like naming winter storms to up the anxiety factor. Next they'll be naming dust devils in Arizona.

Please warn Coonman in advance as much as possible.

He was on the radio I believe, today. And said he had enough of the govt being criticized for what happened in the last storm. Lol

Northam said on Richmond radio today that he is sick and tired of people criticizing govt about the response to the storm.

So we ‘ve all been put on notice. No complaining about the Northam administration.

1-3 inches of snow is a bomb cyclone? Come on man. Winter is not just winter anymore. It is something much more dramatic and specially dangerous.

Ha. My son has been granted 5 paid days off. Because of the crud. Even though he is not sick. One less car on the road. As a native Northern Virginian. He can’t drive in the snow.

I think his rear wheel drive car has a bit to do with that though.

DC usually gets the least amount of snow in the surrounding area. I’d expect 5to 7 outwhere I am.
