In my experience, the Snoot! brand 30ml refillable nasal sprayer (see link in Post #12) works extremely well for application of the 1% povidone-iodine solution. The sprayer produces a powerful stream of ultra-fine droplets that are easily dispersed thoroughly in the nostrils and nasopharynx. I chose to prepare the 1% diluted povidone-iodine solution myself using distilled bottled water. The distilled water was boiled for 2 minutes just to be sure it was sterile.

I found a supplier for a retail product with 1.25% povidone-iodine as the active ingredient. It comes packaged in a nasal sprayer if anyone prefers that option for the sake of convenience and wants to try it.

CofixRX Nasal Spray

It's much less expensive to prepare the dilute 1% povidone-iodine solution yourself. A small 4 fl oz bottle of 10% povidone-iodine can be purchased for less than $4.50. That is sufficient to make enough 1% solution to last for a very long time (years in my case).

Thanks...this sure seems like a reasonable thing rather than destroying society for a bad flu.
