Indonesia has banned coal exports in January due to concerns that low supplies at domestic power plants could lead to widespread blackouts, a senior official at the energy ministry said on Saturday.
The Southeast Asian country is the world's biggest exporter of thermal coal, exporting around 400 million tonnes in 2020. Its biggest customers are China, India, Japan and South Korea.

Indonesia is the largest exporter of coal.
Mexico is reducing crude oil exports everywhere this year and will be stopping all exports in 2023. The US gets 11% of our imported oil from Mexico. Mexico's largest export is crude oil and third largest is refined oil.
The US is at its lowest store of natural gas for 40 years.
Biden is all giddy shutting down gas and oil pipelines and is selling off our Strategic Petroleum Reserve all the while oil tankers are in the backlog of ships waiting to unload in CA. He wants to shut down coal mines and US coal is contracted out to 2023.
They must have a shortage of sunshine down there around the equator….
