The numbers they’re giving here do factor in nighttime, so your starting point is 50%. Then, of course, outside of deserts, there will be clouds. And what they found at one large installation in California that it’s best to not be under a path that airplanes use, as contrails further degrade power production. Damn things are very sensitive.
