Although gambling is illegal here at Free Republic Bushwood, I wonder what the Vegas betting lines are for 1,2,3 of the top slaughter towns.
I agree with the Chicago juggernaut coming out number One.
I remember when NYC’s murder rate was well over 2,000 from 1979-1994. I quit working at Rock Ctr in 1988 and moved back to PA, from NJ.

Be careful of how ‘Chicago’ is defined. Also, the early 90s had some outsize numbers from the last time cities tried this stuff.
NYC has had a sizeable increase, but is still living off the legacy of Giuliani, so it is still only at about 30% of Dinkins numbers.
