It just about did. THEN they told him he had to retire from the AF early. He had plans to stay in for the full 30 years, and he had to really finagle to get to 20 so he could get retirement pay. But he knew how to do it, so he did get his 20 years.
He still misses flying. He could fly “ultra-light” choppers but man! Those things are so fragile and look so unsafe, I hope he never does. I’m sure his wife would prefer him not to, also. LOL!
At least he was able to get his 20 years in. Good finagling!
I’m with you on the ultra-lights! But then I’m a total wuss when it comes to flying. LOL
Has the countdown started to the day you head off to visit the kids. You must be getting antsy by now.
I am getting antsy, especially since I heard from our “cat-sitter” that she’d be on hand to feed the kitties while we’re gone. I was so afraid she and her hubby might be out of town.
How are things there. Has the weather settled down? Is it colder now? Are they finally through with all that cotton mess? Are you ready to put up a sign saying “NO MORE COTTON” there on the roadway? LOL!
YAY! Glad the cat sitter will be available. You got lucky there.
We have pretty weather at present but that will change in a couple of days. Still a little cool today but it was warmer than yesterday and nice to get out and about in.
Still no sign of the guys in the field across the road. NO COMPLAINT HERE! LOL Poor Bella’s had a rough time since they did our fields and is soooooo ready for her monthly shot, which she’ll get Friday. She has to go at least a month between shots or I’d have taken her in sooner.
Poor little Bella. It’s rough when a CAT looks forward to meds. Usually any little pill is like starting WWIII. LOL!
If we’re vewwy, vewwy quiet, do you suppose they’ll forget about that stuff and leave things alone for a few months? :)
I’ve gotten a lot of practice medicating cats and have it down to an art form. LOL I rarely give the cats kitty treats and there’s where my secret weapon is. They get a couple of treats immediately after they take their meds to make it a positive experience.
With pills, I also have a syringe of water to squirt in their mouths to wash the pill down. Who likes to take pills without water? blech
It makes life easier for both of us but I won’t say Bella really looks forward to her meds. She just doesn’t run from me or put up a fight like she did to begin with.
My hope is they won’t do that field at all this winter. Someone else will farm that field next year and maybe they’ll just leave the mess for him to deal with next spring.
You really do have it down...medding cats. The only meds I’ve given Peaches was antibiotics that were liquid and I put them into plain yogurt. He thought it really was a treat. LOL!
Geez. I just looked at the time. Really didn’t intend to stay up this late. See ya tomorrow. Hope tomorrow is another nice one for ya before the ugly starts in again.
I’d rather do pills than liquid meds. They tend to spit out a lot of the liquid so don’t get all the med. None of our cats like yogurt though a lot of cats seem to. I bought some when Churchill was alive at the vet’s recommendation. He had inflammatory bowel disease and the acidophilus would have been good for him. He wanted nothing to do with it and none of the others did either. I can’t stand yogurt so ended up tossing it. LOL
You did stay up late tonight. Sleep late tomorrow!
I’m off to dreamland too.
We have two nice days ahead, then rain from Thursday through at least next Monday. *sigh* At least there won’t be storms with this round. Whew!
First of all...I’ve got this! :)
I heard some of the locals there used to have bumper stickers there stating “Keep America Beautiful. Kill An Airman.”
