Nobody, AFAIK, is claiming that mouthwash cures CoupFlu.

I wonder if this mad-on for mouthwash is really about testing. That the use of mouthwash can reduce the likelihood of a saliva test returning a positive result.

Maybe even a nasal swab test....

How about nasal rinses? They’re actually studying the efficacy of nasal rinses in the prevention or reduction of COVID and its symptoms.

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04559035

If the virus exists in the mucosa of our mouth and nose, does it not follow that regular rinsing of those areas with mouthwash or saltwater, respectively, would reduce the population of the virus in them?

I heard this sort of a year ago or more. All that was claimed at the time was gargling reduced the chance of transmission through your mouth. For some reason they said Colgate Total mouthwash was the one to get. :)

Yep absolutely right, it reduces viral load on mouth and nasal swabs same for nose. So no more positive tests no more rising cases every week or month of the year to continue their nonsense. Very false reporting on this
