A fitting tribute for a man who sacrificed for and served his country. He was a “moderate” Republican, yet he endorsed Donald Trump and the America First agenda.
Caught only part of the invocation, but thought I heard the female chaplain taking an oblique shot at Trump with her comment about “big city bravado.” The Left can’t put politics behind for one moment.

Lying in state is one of the most solemn American traditions, reserved only for select prominent individuals. Dole becomes only the 33rd person in U.S. history to lie in state in the Rotunda. Since the turn of the century, only Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii, and Presidents George H.W. Bush, Ford and Reagan have lain in state in that location.

That’s the first time I’ve seen Liddy Dole in many years... I shouldn’t be surprised at how she’s aged.
This is an example of why I HATE the way the word “hero” is misused today.
It needs to be reserved for the REAL heroes less its meaning gets deminished.
Bob Dole was/is a HERO. A REAL hero. A GREAT man as well.
