I was camping once at a family reunion and a drunk guy drove out of a cornfield and through our campsite, narrowly missing a sleeping baby in a tent. Between my brother and I we, gave the police a perfect description of the man, the car and the plate number.
They returned to tell us they caught him at home and he was absolutely smashed but they couldn’t do anything because they didn’t catch him driving.
We never thought to walk the damaged cornfield to see how much he’d driven through, but it was nowhere near the road
I know that truth is stranger than fiction but ...
Peggy Blumquist would be proud.
If you have it off duty while drunkenly attempting to shoot someone in the parking lot of a bar because they were asking questions about how your drunk offspring was driving then you have it in this case.
Unless that is only very special qualified immunity for federal agents.
“What was he thinking?? He’s a cop!”
Dad might be able to fix it?
He's a cop!
Precisely.
Don't know if they still do it but back when they did a very large percentage failed spectacularly and were still hired.
mom always has good advice. She’ll know what to do with a dead body.
Shock
Santiago then returned to the scene as his father — a lieutenant in the Newark Police Department — called 911 and reported that his son was in an accident.
Ping list?
Good shoot! oh wait he just ran over the guy he didn’t shoot him. Maybe the police department will figure out some way to show that it fit departmental guidelines.
Sp. I'm guessing, because I never watched The Sopranos, that Newark is the correct location.
Another HR screw up
“I’m Winston Wolf, I solve problems.”
“Don’t they do psych evaluations anymore on incoming cops?”
They don’t even do psych evaluations on the president!
Maybe the nurse wasn’t vaccinated. Maybe he was channeling the mandate.
His dad was a retired police Lieutenant!!!
Perhaps his mother is known to be skilled in resurrecting dead people, but told him this was too tough a case, even for her.
The story gets worse the more one reads. They returned to the scene and then loaded the body into the car??? 3am and he ‘drifted’ from his lane?
“On Monday, Nov. 1 around 3 a.m. Santiago — who was off duty at the time — was driving a 2005 Honda Accord northbound on the Parkway near exit 151 when he drifted from his lane into the right shoulder and struck and killed Dymka, prosecutors said.
