Why is this even a controversial statement?

I still fail to see why “Negro” is a problematic word.

That word is used to refer to Blacks in South America, Mexico, the Caribbeans, Spain, Portugal, etc.

We have a variation of the word that sounds almost the same in Romanian and even in the so-called universal language, Esperanto.
