“Been done before. Operation Outward.”
Operation Outward - Wikipedia
Operation Outward was a British plan during the Second World War to attack Germany by means of free-flying balloons. It made use of cheap, simple balloons filled with hydrogen. The balloons carried either a trailing steel wire to damage high voltage power lines by producing a short circuit or incendiary devices to start fires in fields, forests and heathland.
“The graphite bomb was first used against Iraq in the Gulf War (1990–1991), knocking out 85% of the electrical supply. Similarly, the BLU-114/B “Soft-Bomb” graphite bomb was used by NATO against Serbia in May 1999, disabling 70% of that country's power grid. After initial success in disabling Serbian electric power systems, the electric supply was restored in less than 24 hours. The BLU-114/B was again used a few days later to counter Serbian efforts to restore damage caused by the initial attack.
We should de-couple our “grid” but the system is based on the “purchase” of power from system to system. Harden the links against graphite and specifically EMP which a drone (one guesses) or drones may be able to release. Newt Gingrich was and is a real promoter of hardening against EMP. All modern vehicles with “computers” and needless technology— would all... quit running permanently.
