I got my flu shot at a Virginia Mason clinic in the Seattle metro area a week ago.
The nurse was not wearing gloves.
She explained there is now an environmental-medical policy in force at V.M. clinics that reduces the number of gloves used wherever possible.
She stated that the risk of blood to hand contact is so low, they no longer use gloves for flu shots.
Since flu vaccine comes in capped pre-measured syringes, I just said OK and let it pass.
However, this sounds like a high risk policy to me.
