Now, “atmospheric river” = strong rain/snow storm.
Another BS fear phrase.

So the CA greenie weenie policies have caused massive fires and destruction and now that it’s going to rain, the resulting erosion is going to be another disaster created by the left.
To get out in front of it, the media is claiming the rains will be like no other rain ever seen before.

We used to call it the Pineapple Express.I actually recognize that term. Makes more sense now.

5¼” here in Reno since 9:30 am yesterday. Snow at the moment. Obviously not a common occurrence, but California has very distinct wet and dry seasons. I assume Northern CA has seen similar types of rain systems in your lifetime?

Fredo sleeps with the fishes.

Rain much lower than expected/feared/shrieked about. Santa Rosa was supposed to get 10 inches. Got 6.

News reports next spring:
Due to the heavy rain and snow pack last fall and winter, which is expected to create heavy brush and grass growth, we will have an extreme fire danger through summer.

As hard as it was raining last during the Sunday Night football game between San Francisco and Indy, I’m sure it flushed it it all in to the bay

Did you read ANY of the previous explanations of this?
Sometimes know what one doesn't know is more important then knowing what one does know.

Obviously not a common occurrence, but California has very distinct wet and dry seasons. I assume Northern CA has seen similar types of rain systems in your lifetime? The winter of 1985-86 saw 100 consecutive days where it rained each day (at least in the Bay Area). That was fun!

A bit. It's higher than the 90th percentile for any day of the year...

It pretty much poured for 24+ hours straight. I had waterfalls running down my hill and down the driveway. It was crazy!
