My mother died of sepsis the week Trump was elected. It started as a urinary tract infection, and then it got into her bladder which is a bacterial promised land. Then up through the ureters into the kidneys and home free in the blood. It happened several times in her last few months. A course of strong antibiotics would knock it down but ultimately it was a losing battle.
The organism that causes UTI is e Coli. Interesting trivia, feces is at least 50 % e Coli by weight. Improper hygiene is a contributing factor. Sounds like Bill wasn’t keeping Willie clean enough. Gots to wash da peepee. This leads to the conclusion that Hillary is not the only Clinton who wears Depends. Just saying.

E-coli is one cause. One is from e-coli, but not the other. They test for two different kinds of UTIs. The test for the e-coli kind is fast and results are pretty much immediate. Then they grow a culture which takes about three days to get results. They’re treated differently.
My MIL was plagued by this for about five years in her 90s. Her doctor said that in the elderly, the membrane separating the urethra and the “other” chute can become brittle, causing leakage between the two. Hence ... e-coli where it shouldn’t be. Poor hygiene isn’t always a factor, but it sure is super important.
Also, during a colonoscopy, membrane can be punctured which also causes leakage, then a UTI. (My friend worked for a medical malpractice insurance firm, and she’ll NEVER have a colonoscopy.)
If you have artificial joints, especially in the hip area, a UTI can go there and cause major problems.
UTIs are straight from the depths of hell.

He has a UTI that went septic. Considering he’s doinked THOSANDS of women, including hookers, he’s lucky that he didn’t die decades ago from venereal diseases.

When you're in your seventies any hospital stay is serious. Sepsis? It killed a good friend of mine a couple years ago, and she was only sixty.
