Amazon are scammers. They use the “buy box” to dupe lazy buyers into overpaying for a product that can be bought much cheaper even on amazon itself.
As much as I despise bezos, the government has no business breaking up companies. I despise warren more.
She’s right on this one. Even a broken clock is right twice a day!
this may be retaliation for amazon not removing Berenson’s book, he had posted that she had written to amazon demanding it be removed.
In shopping mall speak, Amazon is an anchor tenant.
Excellent comparison. Amazon is "just another seller" in our house. We avoid most edibles, including pet food, from Amazon. Can't trust the Chinese knock-offs. If Amazon has a ridiculously low price for a product--buyer beware.
Time to break up Amazon. That’ll put the rest of Big Tech on notice.

I also believe this based on prices I’ve seen in low income areas: It’s very expensive to be poor in the US.
Hell, I actually agree with her about this. Break up all of Big Tech.
Good point. While I use Amazon mostly, some times I order a product direct from their own websites. Many companies, large and small, have learned to build or contract their own fulfillment centers for there on-line orders.
While I can't stand Bezos, he created a new shopping model with lower prices and quick delivery. There are now 1000's out there who have copied his model. They don't have the delivery fleet that Amazon has, but FedEx and UPS are just about as quick. If you buy most of your stuff on-line, you just can't beat Amazon Prime for delivery. I haven't been to a brick and mortar shopping mall in years.
Amazingly now, you can order food, wine, beer, spirits through UberEats, DoorDash, Brizly, and others, and they're quick. I feel bad for the Mom and Pop stores, but commerce changes. Ordering in is especially handy for old-timers like me and the other Boomers.
That's another good point you make. Depending on the item that Amazon may not have in stock, it's quicker to order direct from the source. And yes, the prices can be less. However, no one has such a easy return policy like Amazon. They not only provide return labels and don't care how you stuff the item back in the box or envelope, there are many stores you just drop it off and they will credit your account on site. Kohls is one, can't remember the others in my area (OC, CA). The wife does all the returns :)
Looks like Amazon missed a scheduled bribe payment.
Maybe, but if you buy a lot on line, the best deals and delivery are from Amazon Prime. It costs $100 a year. I've gone back and forth between the original product website and Amazon, and usually find the same prices.
Like I said above, the downside to Amazon is if they don't have the product in a fulfillment center, then they have to order it from the manufacturer which takes more time. It says right on the product page, "Not in Stock".
Even then, when they give you estimated delivery date on the buy page (even if in stock), I've never had a delivery that wasn't BEFORE that date. I've been buying from Amazon since they expanded from books and music and never had a problem other than shoes or clothing that doesn't fit. That is the manufacturers fault. Still, easy returns.
Screw commie Warren. Amazon fits my shopping needs for every occasion, and now most reputable companies are just as good, except for returns. I really don't see why folks go to malls anymore, other than to touch and feel the product or just get out the house. Amazon's model has been a boom for old Boomers. Hey, I should work for their marketing department. Har!
Amazon is doing what the chinese communists are doing. Taking someone else’s product, making a near copy with inferior materials then selling it for less. I have read complaints over the years of amazon selling knockoffs with the real brand names of many products.
When Congress agrees to TERM LIMITS....I’ll agree with breaking up AMAZON.
AKA the election committee
Squaw, no speak with forked tongue for once.
Hell is now frozen. I found something I agree with Crazy Liz Warren about.
