Oh they “fear” that huh? It’d be best to count on it. That way you’re ahead of the commie.

I can’t imagine how this would be done without a treaty, and I cannot imagine the Senate ratifying the treaty.

Well.

That was in the old world when we still had a Republic ruled by law. Now, they simply ignore the law, and nobody calls them on it. So I guess I could see this happening.

When they eliminate the filibuster, and pack the SC, the Constitution will be nothing but road kill to these marxists.

We’ve concentrated too much power in the White House over the years. With a complicit media, the people running Biden have very few limits.

Why tax at all? Seriously, there way too much government spending already.

The global tax is necessary to respond to an "increasingly globalized and digital global economy,"

Okay, kill it. Kill the globalized economy. Kill the digital economy. if taxes are the answer to keeping it alive, then there is no reason for it to exist.

In order to have a global tax, wouldn’t you have to
have a global government first?

Did I miss that part?

Another transfer of wealth scheme designed to push us into socialism. And after they rob the investors, destroy profits used for further research and investment, where will they come for additional funding? Why to the same middle class they claim to be helping. Only the elites and super wealthy will initially benefit and all will face future declines. And does anyone really expect Russia and China to adhere to this? Our leaders have become brain dead with their ideas that they can bypass human nature and create a utopian society.

Globalization is dead. Globalization was a strategy for defeating the Soviets. It worked and now Americans realize the world is just a good-digging whore who offers nothing and sucks away anything she can get. Close the borders and let the rest of the world fight it out.

Key GOP senators fear Biden to bypass Constitution to force U.S. corporations to pay global tax

Never survive the court challenges.

“Senators Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Jim Risch (R-Idaho) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) “.

If these are KEY Republicans we are doomed. More likely they are helping behind the scenes. All window dressing.

This would fall into the category of a treaty and it would need to be ratified by Congress

Here, again, corporations don’t pay taxes, they collect taxes. From us.

This is just another leftist idea that will contribute to inflation when the corporations raise prices to pay for this “tax.”

This actually would be a rather tricky constitutional issue. The Constitution says that all bills for the raising of revenue must be initiated in the House of Representatives. I don't believe it would be constitutional to raise taxes via a treaty that is ratified only by the Senate.

I think the way you would have to do it is with implementing legislation, which would mean a normal legislative bill initiated in the House, passed by the Senate, and signed by the President.

The global tax is necessary to respond to an "increasingly globalized and digital global economy,"...

The global tax is UNNECESSARY. If the 136 countries want to compete, then let them work it out. What kind of foolishness requires a global tax?

If corporations are dodging taxes by moving to Bermuda or Ireland, I don’t see that as a liberal-conservative issue. They should pay taxes where they operate.
